WINE PROCESSING
Wine typically contains soluble minerals which impart color, taste & aroma to wine. It also contains suspended solids (i.e. particulates matter)
In conventional treatment, diatomaceous earth (DE) filter is used to clarify the wine. Disadvantage of using DE filters is that the exhausted substrate is considered as a hazardous material, which involves additional maintenance and disposal charges.
INDION specialty UF membrane filtration system used in cross flow mode has become a practical alternative to conventional treatment, as it can maintain the flavor, aroma, color and clarity of the wine. It provides higher quality and recovery rate as compared to the traditional clarification methods.
INDION specialty UF membrane filtration system used in cross flow mode has several economic & operational benefits such as elimination of labour costs and time, as well as reduction/ elimination of clarifying agents for wine processing.
Stabilization of Wine can be done with INDION Electro Dialysis by removal of Tartaric acid and K/Ca ion which impart taste & aroma to wine & also generates wine sludge.
